about Melanie

Melanie Schwier

is the founder of Ashtanga Yoga Revolution, a film producer and screenwriter.

In 2009 Melanie completed an Ashtanga Yoga teacher training under the guidance of Andrea Lutz (Ashtanga Yoga Studio Berlin) and was certified by Manju P. Jois  to teach the Primary & the Intermediate series of Ashtanga Yoga.

She has been practicing Ashtanga Yoga for more than a decade herself and started part time teaching in 2010 besides being a documentary film producer.  She founded Ashtanga Yoga Revolution in 2013 – a concept for teaching Ashtanga Yoga at different pop-up locations and destinations. Melanie taught at her Ashtanga Yoga pop-up shala in the South of Sri Lanka from 2014 to 2016. She now resides in Portugal and teaches at her shala in Costa da Caparica and the greater Lisbon area.

With a professional background in the film industry, Melanie knows about the importance of having a tool to work on personal growth and to stay focused. She thinks that Yoga is a great practice to learn to deal with stress and anxiety, to achieve better well-being and happiness and to stay focused on one’s projects.

She would like to share the benefits of this wonderful practice with all who care to give it a try.

Happiness is not a state to arrive at, but a manner of traveling.
